About the role
AECOM is seeking a Principal Environmental Planner to lead high‑profile infrastructure impact assessments across energy, transport and water sectors. You will work within the Impact Assessment and Permitting team in Newcastle, applying ESG principles from the earliest project stages.
Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery of high‑quality environmental impact assessments, constraints analyses and strategic planning pathway assessments.
- Oversee environmental management plans, project budgets, schedules and resource allocation.
- Mentor junior staff and guide their technical development.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, applying commercial acumen and emotional intelligence.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning or engineering.
- Extensive experience in environmental impact assessment across multiple market sectors.
- Proven project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior consulting staff.
