Principal Civil Engineer – Urban Development

About the role

Egis Group is expanding its Queensland Urban Development team and seeks a technically excellent Principal Civil Engineer to lead impactful projects on the Sunshine Coast and across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise across the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and concept design to construction administration and certification.
• Lead the preparation of proposal documentation, fee estimation, methodology development, client liaison and contract negotiation.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, guiding engineers through technical challenges.
• Conduct stakeholder meetings with clients, internal Egis disciplines and external consultants.
• Review technical deliverables—reports, detailed designs, construction QA data—to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and local planning schemes.
• Oversee financial performance, monitoring time and cost against budgets and communicating scope changes.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in urban development engineering, including large‑scale greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with CPEng status (or near completion) and willingness to obtain RPEQ.
• Proven track record of delivering projects that meet client objectives.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and business development.
