Principal BIM Modeller – Fire Protection

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Principal BIM Modeller specialised in Fire Protection to join its multidisciplinary design services team. The role supports projects across Defence, Healthcare, Aviation, Education, Commercial and Civil infrastructure, delivering high‑quality BIM data from design through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all BIM data requirements for fire protection systems throughout design and construction phases.
• Collaborate with BIM Technicians and designers to produce accurate drawings, models and reports that meet client goals and project KPIs.
• Facilitate multi‑disciplinary coordination meetings using ISO 19650 standards.
• Generate and present reports, VR presentations and data‑rich fire protection models for design managers and project controls teams.

Required profile

• Technical qualification from an approved TAFE or related building services degree.
• Ideally 10+ years of building services modelling experience, preferably in fire protection or MEP.
• Strong communication skills for chairing workshops and producing client‑facing documentation.
• Australian citizenship and current defence clearance are preferred.

Required skills

• BIM modelling for fire protection systems.
• Proficiency with Revizto, Navisworks, Dynamo and PowerBI.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards for BIM data management.
