Primary School Teacher – First Nations Focus

About the role

Carinity Education Shalom is seeking a compassionate Primary School Teacher to work with Prep to Year 6 students, primarily First Nations children. This full‑time, onsite position offers the chance to make a lasting impact in a trauma‑informed, culturally responsive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create a safe, inclusive, trauma‑informed and culturally responsive learning environment.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback.
• Build respectful relationships with students, families and staff.
• Collaborate in school‑wide activities such as excursions, camps and assemblies.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, attendance, behaviour incidents and learning outcomes.
• Uphold child protection, safety and Christian values in line with organisational policies.

Required profile

• Qualified and QCT‑registered teacher.
• Strong classroom management and high expectations teaching.
• Experience with culturally responsive and trauma‑informed practice.
• Valid driver’s licence and current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Alignment with Carinity’s Christian ethos of compassion, respect and teamwork.
