Primary Computer Studies Teacher

About the role

Inspired Education is recruiting a Primary Computer Studies Teacher for Reddam House, a school within its portfolio of premium private schools. The teacher delivers a contemporary, engaging and future-focused Computer Studies programme for K-6, covering digital technologies, computational thinking, coding, digital citizenship, AI and emerging technologies, in line with the school's educational philosophy and the NSW curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver an innovative Digital Technology and Computer Studies curriculum (K-6) with strong progression and alignment to NSW curriculum requirements.
• Teach lessons on coding, computational thinking, digital literacy, cyber safety and digital citizenship.
• Design, implement and review assessment and reporting to monitor student progress.
• Lead the primary school's AI and Digital Learning, supporting the safe, ethical and effective use of AI and emerging technologies.
• Mentor teachers and provide professional learning on digital technologies and contemporary teaching practices.
• Collaborate with school leaders, teachers and IT teams on digital learning initiatives.
• Oversee the selection, management and evaluation of digital resources, software platforms and subscriptions.
• Run coding clubs, robotics programmes, technology competitions and parent engagement, and contribute to school leadership and strategic planning.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification and relevant tertiary study in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, STEM or a related discipline.
• Current NESA accreditation and a valid NSW Working with Children Check.
• Commitment to maintaining accreditation and continuous professional development.
• Willingness to take part in playground supervision, school duties, parent events and co-curricular activities as required.

Required skills

• Experience in Digital Technologies, Computer Science, STEM or a related field.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies such as AI and the ability to apply them ethically in education.
• Mentoring and professional learning skills, and strong communication and leadership abilities.
