Pre-Contracts Manager – Energy Projects

About the role

Samsung C&T is seeking an influential and commercially‑savvy Pre‑Contracts Manager to lead the pre‑contract phase for its growing portfolio of gas generation and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Perth. You will work closely with internal sales and proposal teams to drive tender processes, negotiate high‑value EPC contracts and mitigate early‑stage project risks.

Key responsibilities

• Generate leads and identify EPC development opportunities across the energy portfolio.
• Prepare pre‑qualification, bid and project documentation, ensuring compliance with client and legal requirements.
• Manage end‑to‑end pre‑contract activities, including ROI analysis, EOI, RFP and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) submissions.
• Develop and present bid strategies to executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate with estimating, engineering, commercial and delivery teams to produce competitive proposals.
• Maintain strategic relationships with major clients to enhance brand awareness and win probability.
• Lead, mentor and oversee the Bid Management team, driving high performance.
• Provide governance, risk management and approval oversight for all pre‑contract activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in pre‑contracts, bid management or EPC contract negotiation within the energy sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop winning bid strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of acting as the primary liaison with clients and external agencies.
• Ability to analyse market trends, pricing indices and supply‑chain constraints.
