Portfolio Analyst

About the role

QIC's Liquid Markets Group is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join its Fixed Income team in Brisbane. Working alongside experienced Portfolio Managers, you will gain exposure to market research, portfolio construction, client engagement, risk analysis and investment strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor macroeconomic developments, central bank policy decisions and market trends.
• Support portfolio construction and active cash/fixed income portfolio management activities.
• Produce risk reports, attribution analysis and investment insights.
• Assist with client reporting, presentations and investment updates.
• Conduct macroeconomic and fixed income research.
• Work with platforms such as Bloomberg and Aladdin, leveraging data and automation opportunities.
• Help improve processes through technology, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Econometrics or related discipline.
• 1‑3 years' experience in investment management, financial markets, treasury or a related investment discipline.
• Genuine interest in macroeconomics, fixed income markets and portfolio management.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and broader technology skills.
