Piping Coordinator

About the role

GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES), a process engineering consulting and contracting company serving the mining and mineral processing industries, is seeking an experienced Piping Coordinator for its Ascot head office. The role reports to the Manager of Projects, is primarily based in the Perth office and involves periodic visits and travel to projects across Australia. It sits within a collaborative team supporting a range of projects and their day-to-day organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor piping construction activities and project progress
• Review project scope, piping specifications and schedules
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering and construction teams
• Manage material take-offs and bulk procurement
• Monitor project manpower, equipment and material requirements
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
• Identify and resolve construction and technical issues
• Track and report project performance against cost, schedule and quality objectives

Required profile

• Piping trade background and previous supervisory experience highly regarded
• Experience delivering piping projects in mining or mineral processing environments
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics and general arrangement drawings
• Knowledge of current piping design and installation standards
• Demonstrated problem-solving and project coordination capabilities
• Current driver's licence and national police clearance within 3 months
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HDPE and steel piping systems, valves and associated components
• Project coordination and supervision
