Pharmacy Director – Hospital Partnership

About the role

The Director of Pharmacy will lead the pharmacy service within West Gippsland Hospital, shaping strategy, overseeing operations and strengthening the partnership between Slade Pharmacy Warragul and the hospital. This permanent, full‑time role reports to the South East Melbourne Regional Manager and is responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership to the onsite pharmacy team.
• Ensure pharmacy services meet clinical, operational and business performance metrics.
• Monitor service performance, compliance and contractual obligations, reporting to senior hospital executives.
• Lead workflow and service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
• Develop and implement strategic plans that align pharmacy services with hospital priorities.
• Act as primary liaison between Slade Pharmacy Warragul and West Gippsland Hospital leadership.
• Manage escalations and resolve service issues proactively.
• Foster a collaborative team culture, overseeing recruitment, training and professional development.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation and medication safety standards.
