About the role

Barwon Health is seeking a PGY2+ Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) for its August intake. The role offers a supportive learning environment with strong supervision, allowing you to rotate through a wide range of specialties in a vibrant coastal city.

Key responsibilities

• Complete four 3‑month clinical terms across emergency medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, general medicine, geriatrics, rehabilitation, psychiatry, surgery and intensive care.
• Provide high‑quality patient care under the guidance of experienced consultants and registrars.
• Participate in teaching activities for medical students, including ward‑based supervision and classroom sessions.
• Engage in professional development programs and optional training pathways such as RACGP Rural Extended Skills.

Required profile

• Medical graduate eligible for PGY2+ placement.
• Commitment to a structured, supervised training program.
• Willingness to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in pursuing further specialty training (e.g., surgery, emergency medicine, psychiatry).
