Pest Control Technician (Trainee/Licensed)

About the role

Rentokil Initial is seeking a hands‑on, self‑motivated Pest Control Technician for its Townsville team. This is a permanent, full‑time position (38 hours per week) with rotating weekend rosters and varied start times, providing frontline defence against pests for both commercial and residential clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, load and unload the service vehicle each day to be ready for scheduled assignments.
• Conduct thorough inspections at customer sites to identify pest activity and determine treatment plans.
• Apply effective pest control solutions and advise customers on prevention and ongoing management.
• Identify hygiene and environmental risks to create safer spaces.
• Complete digital service reports after each visit, documenting work performed and recommendations.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and look for opportunities to recommend additional value‑adding services.

Required profile

• Full Australian manual driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Certificate III in Urban Pest Management (if applicable).
• Clean criminal record.
• Genuine love for the outdoors and local environment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and safety‑first mindset.
• Ability to work independently in the field while embracing a “one team” attitude.
• Willingness to travel long distances within the region and physically able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Required skills

• Confidence using Android mobile phone applications for service reporting.
• Application of pest control treatments according to product guidelines.
• Completion of digital service reports.
