Personal Care Worker - Retirement Community

About the role

Calvary St Catherine's Retirement Community in Berri, South Australia, is looking for a Personal Care Worker. This is a rewarding, hands-on role within the aged care team, giving you the chance to positively impact the lives of residents and their families by delivering quality, resident-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care tasks such as daily hygiene, including showering, shaving, dressing and mouth and eye care, within an agreed framework
• Observe residents' condition and report changes to the Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse, Facility Manager or other appropriate person, and complete the required documentation
• Respect each person's privacy, dignity and confidentiality
• Assist residents who need help with mobility according to their care plan, encouraging them to stay ambulatory and independent
• Treat every resident with dignity and give them opportunities to make decisions about their day-to-day routine

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support is essential
• Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication
• A desire to join a team committed to caring for others in a mission-based organisation

Required skills

• Working knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS)
• Working knowledge of infection control
