People Services Advisor – People Connect

About the role

The People Services Advisor joins the People Connect team within the Department of Health, acting as a trusted point of contact for employees, managers and external stakeholders across Tasmania’s public health system. You will deliver high‑quality People and Culture advice through the Advice Line and Service Portal, handling enquiries of varying complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex, multi‑stage enquiries using awards, agreements, employment legislation and policy to provide accurate advice.
• Deliver People and Culture services via the Advice Line and Service Portal, ensuring consistent and efficient handling.
• Support employees and managers on People and Culture matters, applying best practice and procedural fairness.
• Coordinate escalation and referral of matters to other People and Culture teams, collaborating to resolve issues.
• Monitor service performance, identify trends and inefficiencies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience providing advice and support on a range of People and Culture issues in a complex or government environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to gather information, explain processes clearly and guide stakeholders toward resolution.
• Excellent written communication and documentation abilities for professional correspondence, briefings and reports.
• Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to assess risk and apply sound judgement.
