People & Culture Advisor

About the role

Join the ANZ People & Culture team at SMEC, part of the SJ Group, as a People & Culture Advisor. Working in a collaborative hybrid environment across Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, you will partner with leaders and employees to deliver practical people solutions throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to provide timely, practical advice across the full employee lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with managers to understand business needs and develop people solutions that support organisational goals.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, organisational change, workforce planning and employee development.
• Support talent management, succession planning and employee engagement initiatives.
• Advise on remuneration, benefits, policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Contribute to diversity, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives that strengthen culture.
• Collaborate with the People & Culture team on strategic projects and business‑improvement initiatives.
• Support organisational change activities through planning, communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Analyse people trends and identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and business outcomes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant experience in a generalist People & Culture or Human Resources role, preferably within a professional services environment.
• Proven experience partnering with leaders across a broad range of functions.
• Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver commercially focused people solutions.
