People and Culture Operations Manager

About the role

Respect, the largest provider of aged care services in Regional Australia, is seeking an experienced People and Culture Operations Manager. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the role leads the wider People and Culture team and supports the operations and support teams in delivering on business strategy. It is based remotely in Tasmania.

Key responsibilities

• Act as business partner to the Head of Residential Aged Care, Head of Home Care and Head of Retirement Living
• Lead a team of Business Partners, People and Culture Officers and a Team Leader, providing direction, coaching and mentoring
• Run management meetings and advise leadership on people-related topics
• Support employee relations, including advising on union rights of entry, investigating grievances and whistleblower disclosures, and acting as an escalation point
• Help with performance management and prepare the business for legislative changes such as closing loopholes legislation
• Lead people-related aspects of acquisitions and integration, including employee transitions, change consultation with unions and due diligence on industrial instruments
• Manage continuous improvement across business partnering and administration, including HRIS functionality, line manager education, DE&I and policy reviews

Required profile

• Proven background in People and Culture management, with experience across general HR and leading a large team at a senior level
• Experience in tactical HR environments and a track record of leading teams and delivering results
• Background in Aged Care, Disability or another allied health field is ideal but not required
• Confident, decisive leader with good judgement and the ability to handle competing priorities
• Relevant qualifications, current NDIS Worker Screening and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
