Patient Transport Officer – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking a Patient Transport Officer to join the External Transport Services team at Fiona Stanley Hospital. In this full‑time position you will provide safe, timely and compassionate transport for patients and their carers, supporting the clinical workforce and enhancing the overall hospital experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑time transport services for patients and carers, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Assist patients with boarding and disembarking, following infection‑control and safety protocols.
• Check and maintain vehicle and equipment readiness before each shift.
• Record and communicate detailed handover information to clinical staff.
• Drive hospital transport vehicles safely while adhering to road and patient‑care standards.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Non‑Emergency Patient Transport, Certificate IV in Health Care or Ambulance, or equivalent qualification.
• Current WA C Class driver’s licence and willingness to obtain a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation.
• Valid CPR and first‑aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain.
• Current COVID‑19, MMR, pertussis and varicella vaccinations.
• Relevant experience in patient transport or strong transferable skills from customer‑service or care settings.

Required skills

• Safe vehicle operation and navigation within a hospital environment.
• Knowledge of infection‑control and patient‑safety procedures.
• Ability to complete accurate documentation and handovers.
