Parts Interpreter

About the role

Volvo Group Australia manages the manufacturing, distribution and operation of brands such as Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Bus, Volvo Penta and Volvo Construction Equipment. This Parts Interpreter role works for Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV), the primary commercial vehicle distribution centre for Volvo Trucks and Buses, Mack Trucks and UD Trucks, based in Prestons. You will provide efficient after-sales service by identifying, sourcing and selling truck and bus parts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain retail displays daily and highlight current specials for customer visibility
• Market and sell parts to meet business targets and develop a customer base
• Coordinate and implement the supply of parts and parts services
• Answer customer enquiries, process invoices and handle returns
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and team members
• Perform parts warehousing tasks, including sorting and ordering
• Raise vendor purchase orders and maintain documentation

Required profile

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage time, and a team player mindset
• Strong truck parts knowledge, ideally within a retail environment
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including Saturday shifts and be on call for parts supply

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills
