Parts Interpreter

About the role

Mariner Engineering, a Volvo Penta and Yanmar marine engine dealership in Spotswood, Victoria, is looking for a Parts Interpreter. The role supports the service operations by sourcing, ordering and supplying marine parts for customers and technicians, covering everything from routine servicing components to complex repower projects. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Source parts and allocate them to service jobs and customer orders
• Monitor inventory in the parts system and share updates and availability with the service team and customers
• Receive, inspect and put away stock and special-order parts
• Identify parts issues and give feedback to improve future performance
• Pick up and transport parts by company vehicle or forklift, engaging third parties when needed
• Organise information and reports for the service team and general manager
• Process orders, invoices and payments

Required profile

• Proven experience in a parts-related role, ideally in automotive, heavy vehicle, marine or industrial machinery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with the team and customers
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused and able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Able to perform repetitive duties including regular lifting, packing, bending and standing
• Current Australian driver's licence; forklift licence is an advantage

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Forklift operation is an advantage
