Part-time Service Desk Engineer – Melbourne

About the role

Quantium is seeking a part‑time Service Desk Engineer to be the primary on‑site IT presence for its Melbourne team. Working three days a week in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, you will deliver hands‑on technical support and ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software and connectivity for data‑driven professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide independent on‑site IT support, resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Manage laptop re‑imaging, stock and asset tracking to keep devices up‑to‑date.
• Handle account provisioning, password resets and identity management tasks.
• Collaborate with senior IT teams in Sydney and support teams in India via Slack and Zoom for complex challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of IT support processes and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of IT support experience within an internal tech‑forward environment.
• Comfortable troubleshooting both Mac and Windows platforms.
• Basic networking knowledge for desk‑side connectivity issues.
• Self‑sufficient problem‑solver who knows when to escalate.
• Professional, patient approach to face‑to‑face support for technically savvy users.
• Experience with audiovisual and video‑conferencing equipment is highly regarded.
