Part-Time Cafe Attendant

About the role

IRT Kirrawee Place Residential Care Home is looking for friendly, enthusiastic part-time Cafe Attendants to create a welcoming cafe experience for residents, their families and visitors. Positions are available across Monday to Sunday, for people who enjoy making coffee, delivering good customer service and building meaningful connections.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea and other beverages using a coffee machine
• Prepare and serve toasted sandwiches and fresh sandwiches
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to residents, families and visitors
• Take orders, handle payments and keep transactions accurate
• Keep the cafe clean, tidy and well-presented
• Restock supplies and monitor stock levels
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
• Build positive relationships with residents

Required profile

• Certificate II in Health Services or equivalent
• Experience in hospitality, cafe or customer service roles
• Friendly, approachable manner and a genuine passion for customer service
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take initiative
• Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Empathetic approach and interest in supporting older people

Required skills

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Confidence using a coffee machine and preparing quality beverages (desirable)
