Painting Apprenticeship

About the role

Aussie Painters Network is recruiting Painting Apprentices on behalf of its member companies to join their growing teams in Perth. You will work alongside qualified and skilled painters, gaining hands-on experience, mentoring and ongoing support. The apprenticeship is paid with on-the-job training and leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out measurements and basic calculations
• Read and interpret plans and specifications
• Erect and maintain trestle and plank systems
• Handle painting and decorating materials and use painting and decorating tools and equipment
• Remove and replace doors, windows and other components
• Prepare surfaces for painting
• Apply paint with brushes and rollers
• Apply textured coating finishes by brush, roller and spray

Required profile

• Genuine interest in undertaking a Painting Apprenticeship
• White Card, or ability to obtain one as soon as possible
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team, with a positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction; trustworthiness and motivation
• Preferred but not essential: a current driver's licence and reliable vehicle, and previous painting or construction-related experience

To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an eligible visa with approved working rights in Australia. Visa eligibility can be confirmed through the Department of Home Affairs or VEVO.
