Operator - Transfer Station

About the role

Join Cleanaway at the Dandenong South SEMTS transfer station as a skilled Operator. This full‑time position works the afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, handling heavy machinery to manage waste processing.

Key responsibilities

• Operate earth‑moving equipment including front end loader, material handler, skid steer and forklift.
• Assist drivers and the public with correct load placement.
• Excavate and load dry waste (metal, wood, general rubbish) for compaction and covering.
• Maintain safe operation of vehicles and equipment in line with procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties and uphold a professional image.

Required profile

• Current Excavator and Loader ticket.
• Leadership skills and ability to mentor others.
• Strong work ethic, reliable attendance and safety commitment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
