Operations Manager - Gladstone Laundry Site

About the role

Consolidated Linen Service (CLS), a family-owned commercial laundry serving more than 800 customers in hospitality, healthcare and aged care, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for its Gladstone site. The site processes about 50 tonnes of linen per week and employs around 40 people, serving Gladstone and the surrounding region. Reporting to the Central Queensland General Manager, the role covers day-to-day performance of the site, including production, people management, customer relationships, administration, service delivery and operational costs. It is a hands-on leadership position with a salary of $90,000-$110,000 plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across production, administration, warehouse, deliveries and maintenance, and manage production planning, staffing, rosters and resources.
• Monitor productivity, labour costs and operating expenses, identify efficiency improvements and coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Lead and develop a workforce of about 40 employees, guide supervisors and team leaders, and handle recruitment, onboarding, training and performance.
• Build strong customer relationships through regular visits, service reviews and account meetings, and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Oversee customer service and administration so orders and records are accurate, and work with delivery teams and the wider CLS network.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced environment, including managing supervisors or team leaders.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, labour costs and operational performance.
• Previous commercial laundry experience is not essential; backgrounds in manufacturing, logistics, hospitality or industrial services are acceptable.
• Current C class driver's licence.
