Operations Manager – 3PL (Pick‑Pack & Last‑Mile)

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead our fast‑paced, temperature‑controlled pick‑pack and last‑mile distribution centre in Wetherill Park. The role is hands‑on, with full ownership of daily operations and the opportunity to shape a growing national business.

Key responsibilities

• Take full operational ownership of a high‑volume pick‑pack and last‑mile fulfilment site.
• Lead carton and unit picking across chilled and ambient stock, meeting tight same‑day dispatch windows.
• Manage and develop supervisors and a large warehouse team across extended operating hours.
• Own service performance against dispatch cut‑offs and customer KPIs.
• Drive labour planning, cost control and site metrics such as DIFOT, pick accuracy and safety.
• Embed structure and processes, continuously improving as volumes increase.
• Collaborate with transport partners and customers to maintain high service levels.

Required profile

• Proven operations management experience in 3PL, FMCG distribution or high‑volume fulfilment.
• Strong background in carton and unit pick‑pack, e‑commerce or last‑mile fulfilment (not pallet‑based warehousing).
• Track record of scaling operations and teams.
• Effective people leadership – develop supervisors, guide teams through change and uphold standards under pressure.
• Commercially sharp on labour, cost and service metrics.
• Hands‑on leader who works on the floor.
• Experience with fresh, chilled or temperature‑controlled environments.
• Availability at short notice is an advantage.
