Operating Theatre Registered Nurse - Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular & Renal Transplant

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its operating theatres at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital. The nurse performs instrumentation and circulating nurse roles for Cardiothoracic, Vascular and Renal Transplant specialties, providing patient-centred, evidence-informed care assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated with the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform instrumentation and circulating nurse roles in the operating theatres
• Provide patient-centred, evidence-informed nursing care for cardiothoracic, vascular and renal transplant surgery
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care with the multidisciplinary healthcare team

Required profile

• Recent operating theatre experience
• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or Australian work rights
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster with remote call
