Open Spaces Operator (Mower)

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Open Spaces Operator (Mower) to join Shellharbour City Council’s Open Spaces team. You will help maintain parks, reserves and recreational areas, ensuring they remain safe and attractive for the community.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a variety of grounds maintenance tasks across council parks and reserves.
- Operate mowing equipment safely and efficiently to keep open spaces well‑trimmed.
- Assist with the application of approved chemicals and follow environmental guidelines.
- Support the team in maintaining safety standards and reporting any hazards.
Required profile
- Reliable, safety‑focused team player with experience in parks or open‑space maintenance.
- Willingness to obtain or hold a White Card, Traffic Controller ticket and Farm Chemical Users Certificate.
- Current NSW Class C driver licence.
Required skills
- Operation of mowing equipment.
What we offer
- Permanent full‑time role (38 hrs/week) with a 9‑day fortnight option.
- Salary $1,160–$1,281 per week (approximately $4,640–$5,124 per month) plus 12 % superannuation.
