Oncology Pharmacist (Grade 2) – Fixed‑term

About the role
The Royal Children’s Hospital is seeking a Grade 2 Oncology Pharmacist to join the Children’s Cancer Centre on a fixed‑term basis (80 hours per fortnight) as a parental‑leave backfill until September 2027. The role can be part‑time or job‑shared and involves direct clinical pharmacy support for in‑patient and day‑unit oncology services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services on the Children’s Cancer Centre inpatient ward and Day Oncology Unit.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical trials and related projects.
- Dispense medications, counsel patients, and deliver specialised drug information.
- Maintain oncology protocols within the EMR and prepare cytotoxic/hazardous drugs aseptically.
- Contribute to weekend, overtime and on‑call rosters as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and registration as a pharmacist.
- Experience delivering clinical ward pharmacy services, patient medication counselling and drug information.
- Commitment to professional membership with bodies such as the Children’s Oncology Group and ANZCHOG.
- Willingness to work the specified 80 hours per fortnight and engage in rostered duties.
Required skills
- Clinical pharmacy practice in an oncology setting.
- Aseptic preparation of cytotoxic and hazardous medications.
- Maintenance of oncology protocols in an electronic medical record system.
- Patient medication counselling and specialised drug information provision.
- Dispensing for inpatient and outpatient oncology services.
What we offer

- Salary range $94,478.80 – $106,906.80 per annum plus superannuation.
