Occupational Therapist (Temporary Full-Time)

About the role

Tamworth Community Health Service is recruiting a temporary full-time Occupational Therapist (Level 3, 38 hours per week) to provide assessment, intervention and rehabilitation to adults aged 18 and over across the Tamworth region. The role sits within New England Community Aged Care Services (NECACS) and the Tamworth Community Health team, based at the Tamworth hospital campus and serving Manilla and Barraba. It is part of a multidisciplinary team with mentorship, professional development and flexible working.

Key responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy assessment, intervention and rehabilitation to adults across the Tamworth region, including residential aged care facilities in Manilla and Barraba.
• Support safe discharge planning and work with a diverse community caseload.
• Deliver a high-quality clinical service to patients and their families and carers, aiming for optimal health outcomes.

Required profile

• Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
• Eligible to drive in NSW with a current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
• High-level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, able to adapt style to different audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team, and to lead planning and evaluation of team activities.
• Community OT experience, especially home modifications and equipment prescription, is highly desirable.
• Australian citizenship, Australian permanent residency or a New Zealand passport is required for permanent employment; temporary visa holders may be considered only if no suitable local candidate is found.
