Nurse Practitioner - Sexual Health and HIV Prevention (Telehealth)

About the role

Queensland Health is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner for its Statewide Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Telehealth Service, based in Brisbane North. The role delivers advanced sexual health and HIV prevention care through an innovative telehealth model, supporting Medicare-ineligible people who face barriers to traditional healthcare. It is a fixed-term position until June 2027, with possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, prescribing, treatment planning and ongoing management for consumers accessing PrEP and sexual health services through a telehealth model.
• Deliver specialist nursing interventions and expert clinical advice in Sexual Health Medicine within an approved Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
• Lead and support nurse-led models of care that improve access, equity and health outcomes for people at risk of HIV acquisition.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, pharmacy, pathology, primary care and community stakeholders to coordinate person-centred care.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, quality improvement, research, education and mentoring.

Required profile

• Nurse Practitioner with an approved scope of practice in Sexual Health Medicine.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
• Commitment to the Metro North Health values.
