NDIS Support Coordinator

About the role

The Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS), a not-for-profit healthcare provider serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, is looking for an experienced NDIS Support Coordinator to join its team in Kununurra on a full-time basis. The role works with NDIS participants, their families, service providers and internal teams to implement and manage individual NDIS plans, build participants' capacity to self-manage supports and promote culturally safe, person-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with NDIS participants, their families, service providers and internal teams to implement and manage individual NDIS plans
• Build participants' capacity to self-manage supports and promote independence and choice
• Foster strong networks across the disability and health sectors so participants are connected with appropriate, quality supports
• Deliver culturally safe, person-centred care in a remote Aboriginal community setting

Required profile

• Experience in disability support, case management or community services
• Minimum Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or similar, or equivalent experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote Aboriginal health context
• Resilience, adaptability and commitment to building trust with the local community
• Experience in Aboriginal communities or within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation highly regarded

Required skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coordinate services and navigate complex support systems
• Strong understanding of the NDIS, person-centred practice and community-based service delivery

What we offer

• Base wage of $104,010.71 per annum pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience, plus superannuation
• 5 weeks annual leave and additional paid leave over the year-end closure period
• Annual flight allowance of $1,800 after 12 months of continuous service, pro rata
• Accommodation allowance of $6,240 per annum pro rata
• Sociable hours (Monday to Friday office hours)
