Multi Skilled Operator – Crushing

About the role

We are seeking experienced Multi‑Skilled Operators to join the crushing team at the QCoal Northern Hub in Collinsville. Reporting to the Crushing Supervisor, you will safely operate excavators and loaders, maintain ROM pads and support coal handling across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate essential equipment such as a Hitachi 490 LCM excavator and a Cat 988K front‑end loader.
• Perform pre‑start inspections and complete required production and safety documentation.
• Maintain ROM pads, stockpiles and haul roads to required standards.
• Coordinate with road‑train and dozer operators to ensure consistent material flow.
• Follow mine plans, daily production schedules and report hazards, equipment faults and near‑misses.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating large heavy‑earth‑moving equipment in a mining environment.
• Experience loading trucks to correct weights using bucket weightometers (e.g., Loadrite).
• Current RII or equivalent competency for front‑end loader operation.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and meeting production targets.
• Willingness to work rostered day and night shifts on‑site and meet medical and drug/alcohol screening requirements.

• Terex Finlay J. 1480 jaw crusher (desirable).
• Terex Finlay TC‑80 tracked conveyor (desirable).
• Terex Finlay I 140 RS impact crusher (desirable).
• Use of bucket weightometers such as Loadrite.
• RII competency for front‑end loader.
