Mobile Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter

About the role

Komatsu Australia is hiring a Field Service Technician (Mobile Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter) in Mount Isa, one of Australia's key mining regions. The technician carries out mechanical and electrical maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu equipment, working independently in the field with support from a national network of technical experts, parts supply and training resources. The roster is 7:7 days, 12-hour shifts from Wednesday to Tuesday.

Required profile

• Trade qualification as a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Understanding of local and mine-specific HSE and industrial legislation
• Strong diagnostic skills, including onboard system analysis and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Commitment to safety, compliance and mine-site standards
• Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
