Mining Trainer & Assessor (FIFO)

About the role

Fortescue is seeking a dynamic Trainer & Assessor to deliver mining operations training at its Solomon mine in Western Australia. The role is FIFO (14 days on, 14 days off) and involves both classroom and on‑site instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and assess mining operations training, including FMG‑specific competency verification.
• Facilitate classroom‑based training sessions and inductions.
• Perform administrative and scheduling duties related to training programmes.

Required profile

• Current Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
• Hands‑on experience operating production excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, mechanical/electric haul trucks and ancillary equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mining practices and technical systems.
• Ability to work independently, organise workload and maintain attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SuccessFactors experience is a plus.
