Mid-Level Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

SecurityHQ is looking for a Mid‑Level Cyber Security Consultant to join its Brisbane team. In this hybrid role you will own key client accounts, provide strategic security guidance, support incident response, and help improve overall security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and strengthen client relationships through regular strategic interactions.
• Provide expert guidance on SIEM/XDR usage, threat detection methodologies, and operational uplift.
• Prepare and present detailed security reports to client stakeholders.
• Act as the first line of defense, maintaining proactive communication with customers.
• Lead SecOps meetings, operational sync‑ups, and security consultations.
• Assist in mapping and reviewing client network and security architectures.
• Analyze security incidents, event logs, service integrations, and tooling outputs to identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience with strong customer‑facing exposure in cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
• Relevant certifications are advantageous (e.g., CompTIA CySA+, EC‑Council CEH, Microsoft AZ‑500, AWS Solutions Architect – Associate).

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM/observability platforms, especially Azure Sentinel.
• Familiarity with XDR and EDR solutions.
• Understanding of cloud security principles across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
