Mid-Level Backend Engineer

About the role

Mable, a leading Australian healthtech platform, is looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join its high‑productivity team. You will focus on delivering robust backend functionality, ensuring platform stability, and contributing to the overall technical direction of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to solve complex problems and design effective backend solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy code to production, primarily on AWS.
• Produce clear documentation, including data flows, diagrams, test results, and code comments.
• Investigate and resolve backend issues based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
• Champion clean, standardized coding conventions and best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of professional software development experience in Test‑Driven Development (TDD) environments.
• Experience building, deploying, and managing APIs on AWS infrastructure.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable backend applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jira for version control and project tracking.
