Mid-Level Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mid‑Level Engineer to join Mable’s technology team. You will focus on building robust backend services that keep our health‑tech platform reliable and performant for thousands of users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to design and implement backend solutions.
• Develop, test and deploy code to production, ensuring high quality and scalability.
• Create clear documentation, including data flows, diagrams and test results.
• Investigate and resolve backend issues based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
• Champion clean coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a Test‑Driven Development environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.

Required skills

• Experience building, deploying and managing APIs on AWS infrastructure.
• Proficiency in backend development and scalable application design.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jira for version control and issue tracking.
• Knowledge of testing practices and verification of backend code.
