Mental Health Clinician ACT, Clinical Nurse ACT

About the role

West Moreton Health, part of Queensland Health, is recruiting a Mental Health Clinician ACT / Clinical Nurse ACT for its Acute Care Team in the Brisbane West / Ipswich region. The team runs a 24/7 mental health support line and is the first point of contact for people worried about their own or a loved one's mental health. The clinician provides triage, mental health assessment, short-term treatment and recovery support to consumers seeking acute mental health services, and collaborates with colleagues to give clinical advice on assessment, treatment options and risk management. Multiple permanent and temporary positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Triage, mental health assessment and short-term treatment and recovery support for acute mental health issues
• Provide clinical leadership by advising on assessment, treatment options and risk management
• Work autonomously with a complex caseload, without immediate supervision from a more senior clinician
• Collaborate across professions to deliver effective service and quality outcomes

Required profile

• Mental Health Clinician: demonstrated high-level clinical practice and expertise in a relevant discipline, able to work independently and apply quality assurance processes and professional development
• Clinical Nurse: demonstrated clinical skills in acute mental health nursing and knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches
• Strong communication skills with clients, families and stakeholders, and the ability to support and communicate with other team members
• Vaccinated against vaccine-preventable diseases as required by the Health Employment Directive

• Pay: Mental Health Clinician (HP3) $3,213-$4,628 per fortnight; Clinical Nurse Consultant (NG6) $4,390-$4,700.90 per fortnight
