Medical Receptionist

About the role

Lumus Imaging is seeking a full‑time Medical Receptionist to join the team at Werribee Mercy Hospital. The role focuses on coordinating MRI bookings for both inpatient and outpatient services in a busy public‑hospital environment, while delivering high‑quality customer service to patients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage front‑desk enquiries and maintain a professional reception area.
• Coordinate and schedule MRI appointments for inpatient and outpatient cases.
• Answer, direct and triage incoming telephone calls efficiently.
• Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including accurate data entry.
• Maintain up‑to‑date patient records with a high level of attention to detail.
• Liaise with patients, medical professionals, referring practitioners and internal teams.
• Process billing and banking transactions, including Medicare, DVA, health‑fund and WorkCover claims.

Required profile

• Previous reception, administration or customer‑service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
• High attention to detail and accurate data‑entry capabilities.
• Professional, compassionate and patient‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy team environment.
