Mechanical Technician

About the role

PLS is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join its fast‑moving clean‑energy team. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will carry out equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable production at our Pilgangoora plant.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily mechanical maintenance tasks according to the maintenance plan.
• Troubleshoot machine components, identify failure causes and gather evidence for analysis.
• Accurately record and close work orders in the PRONTO system.
• Guide assistants and share knowledge during routine tasks.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Maintain punctuality and adhere to FIFO shift patterns (dayshift and nightshift).
• Ensure proper use, return, and credit of parts and tools.
• Clean and tag all removed parts with work‑order details after repairs.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow written work orders and safety procedures.
• Good communication skills to support assistants and report findings.
• Reliability in adhering to shift schedules and FIFO roster.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with the PRONTO maintenance management system.
• Use of hand and power tools in a plant environment.
