Mechanical Service Technician – Automated Logistics

About the role

As a Mechanical Service Technician at our advanced automated picking solutions site in Moorebank, you will ensure high‑performance material handling systems run reliably around the clock. The role is full‑time, permanent and operates on a rotating 12‑hour day/night roster.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, install and repair automated material handling equipment to maximise availability and safety.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and system faults, reducing downtime.
• Respond to reactive service calls and proactively address issues during shifts.
• Analyse performance data and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge.
• Collaborate closely with the Service team to deliver customer‑focused outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree, diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience maintaining or servicing automated or industrial systems.
• Methodical, structured approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work rotating 12‑hour day and night shifts.

Required skills

• Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Automated material handling systems.
• Warehouse Control System (WCS) familiarity.
• Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) knowledge.
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) experience.
