Mechanical Engineer – Mineral Processing & Materials Handling

About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of mineral processing and bulk materials handling projects from concept through detailed design and commissioning support. The position offers exposure to a wide range of commodities and projects within a collaborative, technically‑focused engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering design for mineral processing and/or materials handling projects.
• Develop equipment specifications, data sheets and perform technical calculations.
• Prepare reports, technical documentation and support feasibility studies and concept design.
• Review vendor documentation, technical submissions and coordinate with multi‑discipline drafting teams.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning activities and conduct site inspections as required.
• Contribute to safety‑in‑design and risk review processes, ensuring compliance with Australian and industry standards.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in mining, mineral processing or materials handling (2+ years for Mechanical Engineer, 8+ years for Senior, 10+ years for Lead).
• Exposure to plant equipment and mechanical design.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
