Mechanical Engineer – Alice Springs

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support safe and effective operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems in Alice Springs, NT. Key responsibilities

• Perform technical studies, analyses, investigations and consultations for facility infrastructure, equipment and system modifications.
• Design and develop solutions to moderate‑to‑complex mechanical engineering problems, including HVAC, hydronic and data‑centre cooling systems.
• Review and advise on proposed changes from concept through detailed IFC designs, providing engineering calculations and ROM cost estimates.
• Evaluate operational systems and equipment to support optimization, reliability, life‑cycle management and costing.
• Promote and maintain health and safety practices on site and ensure compliance with EHS and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
• Minimum one year of experience with building management and control systems, HVAC or hydronic systems.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or Australian citizenship able to obtain Top‑Secret Positive Vetting.
• Driver’s licence; PE/CPEng certification is desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Experience with data‑centre cooling systems and building management/control systems.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and develop ROM cost estimates.
