Material Planner (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Material Planner to support the METRONET railcar program in Western Australia. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a high degree of autonomy and the chance to contribute to one of the region's most significant rail projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute material planning and inventory management to meet project milestones and operational needs.
• Manage purchase requisition flow and ensure accurate material planning documentation.
• Maintain master data integrity within the ERP system (SAP).
• Collaborate with Industrialisation, Procurement, Operations, and Logistics teams to guarantee material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast material needs, and identify potential shortages or supply‑chain risks.
• Implement mitigation actions to minimise project impacts and optimise stock levels.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and performance reporting related to inventory.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
