Maritime Educator – Talent Pool (TAFE Queensland)

About the role

TAFE Queensland is seeking experienced maritime professionals to join its Maritime Educator Talent Pool. You will share your sea‑time knowledge and help shape the next generation of mariners through practical, industry‑relevant training.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver training across maritime disciplines such as navigation, ECDIS, GMDSS and vessel operations.
• Teach seamanship topics including basic and advanced watch‑keeping and small‑boat operations.
• Provide leadership, management and technical maintenance instruction.
• Conduct safety, emergency response, communications and operational readiness courses.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, maintenance discipline, leadership and effective communication.

Required profile

• Extensive sea‑time and practical experience in maritime operations.
• Strong decision‑making, problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
• Passion for teaching and ability to translate real‑world experience into training.
• Commitment to maintaining high professional standards in maritime education.
