Manufacturing Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Test Automation Engineer to lead the development of test frameworks and consoles for the Dive-XL underwater vehicle program. The role combines hardware‑software integration, GUI development, and production floor support to ensure high‑quality, rapid testing of defence hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build production utility suites, including a manufacturing‑line console and a vehicle‑level test base, with version‑controlled GUIs for technicians.
• Develop and maintain a shared test framework architecture covering test runners, instrument drivers, data logging, traceability hooks, and error‑code libraries.
• Standardise the toolchain using NixOS‑based declarative configurations and implement CI/CD pipelines for test software delivery.
• Integrate test results with factory systems such as MES, Oracle ERP, and Teamcenter PLM, ensuring traceability and eliminating spreadsheet reliance.
• Provide floor support, debugging failed tests, and collaborating with US manufacturing sites to converge codebases.

Required profile

• Degree in Software, Computer, Electrical, Mechatronic engineering or equivalent experience, with ability to read schematics.
• Strong Python programming experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with Linux command‑line environment and Bash scripting.
• Hands‑on electronics troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
• Eligibility for an Australian Government NV2 security clearance (Australian citizen).
