Manager - ROAM Electricity Market Modelling

About the role

EY-ROAM is a leading provider of electricity market modelling services in Australia and New Zealand, offering evidence-based insights to clients across the energy value chain. Due to growing demand for its services, EY-Parthenon is looking for a Manager with 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry to join its Sydney office. The role involves delivering a broad range of market modelling projects and giving clients insights that support informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in executing and delivering a wide range of market modelling projects
• Provide clients with evidence-based insights that enable informed decision making
• Use the firm's software, which uses a physics-first approach and represents the transmission network, to model electricity markets and power systems
• Develop your own learning and development in line with your interests while working alongside client engagements

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education in engineering, mathematics, economics, physics or computer science
• 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills, able to explain insights clearly to clients and colleagues

Required skills

• High numeracy and experience analysing large data sets
• Ability to handle ambiguity in data
• High computer literacy; current tools are Excel, Python and Matlab
• Willingness and ability to learn a new programming language, with time and training provided
• Best-practice data visualisation for analysis and presentation
