Manager, Financial Control

About the role

As a Manager, Financial Control you will support high‑quality statutory financial reporting for Westpac Institutional Bank. You will act as a trusted accounting adviser, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance across a range of institutional products.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and disclosure notes.
• Provide pragmatic guidance on accounting policy for new product initiatives.
• Resolve complex accounting matters in partnership with WIB Finance, Group Finance and offshore teams.
• Oversee month‑end reporting, including balance‑sheet reviews, reconciliations, journal entries and hedge‑accounting processes.
• Coordinate with outsourced service providers and manage intercompany processes.
• Offer subject‑matter expertise on Multiple Reporting Currency (MRC) ledgers.
• Identify control gaps, support Finance Assurance sign‑offs and lead process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified accountant.
• Proven experience in statutory reporting within banking or regulated financial services.
• Strong technical accounting background and solid understanding of accounting standards.
• Experience applying accounting policy in practice and advising stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work with large data sets and financial systems.

Required skills

• Oracle financial systems.
• Advanced Excel capability.
