Manager, Analytics Capability & Data Delivery

About the role

James Cook University (JCU) is creating a new senior role to lead its data and analytics capability. You will lead a multidisciplinary data engineering team, strengthen the University's enterprise data capability and help build the foundations for its future analytics and AI ambitions, supporting better decision-making across the University. The position is full-time, 36.25 hours per week, based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary data engineering team
• Influence the development of JCU's data capability and turn complex information into organisational insight
• Build strong partnerships across the University
• Shape the future direction of JCU's data, analytics and AI capability
• Deliver practical, future-focused solutions that combine technology, people and business priorities

Required profile

• Experienced data and analytics professional able to see the big picture and deliver technically complex solutions
• Strong experience across business intelligence, data warehousing, enterprise databases and data pipelines
• Able to explain complex technical concepts clearly and influence decisions at different levels
• Curiosity, sound judgement and advanced problem-solving skills, with the confidence to lead complex projects
• Relevant postgraduate qualification, or equivalent combination of education and experience
