Maintenance Technician – Warehouse & Automation

About the role

Amazon is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join its Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at the Jandakot site near Perth. You will keep the warehouse running safely and efficiently by maintaining material handling, packaging, and distribution equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform proactive and preventative maintenance on all site equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in a live warehouse environment.
• Implement long‑term solutions to minimise future downtime.
• Use specialised tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
• Follow and promote Health & Safety standards.

Required profile

• Formal trade qualification – Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical licence, or Certificate III in Engineering, or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Equivalent Australian‑recognised qualifications are acceptable.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Proven fault‑finding ability on material handling or automation equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working to relevant health and safety regulations.

Required skills

• Conveyor maintenance and motor controller/inverter knowledge.
• Use of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
• Maintenance of sortation machines, barcode scanners and print‑and‑apply machines.
• Specialised tool operation for equipment optimisation.
