Maintenance – Restaurant Opening Soon

About the role

McDonald's Australia is hiring a maintenance employee for its new restaurant in Apley, Queensland, which opens soon. The role reports to the Restaurant Manager and focuses on keeping the restaurant clean inside and out and ready for trade each day. It suits someone highly organised, able to work autonomously and with a high attention to detail. Full-time positions are sought, but part-time or casual applicants are encouraged, especially those available for late-night or early-morning shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the internal and external restaurant environment so it is clean, functional and welcoming for customers and staff.
• Maintain equipment so the restaurant stays safe and secure from hazards.
• Clean the restaurant carpark, patio and exterior equipment, including bins, gardens, curbs, signage, floors, tables and chairs.
• Organise and clean the back area, including the rubbish area and staff toilets.
• Comply with restaurant safety and security standards.
• Complete ad hoc maintenance tasks when requested by management.

Required profile

• High attention to detail, organisation and ability to meet strict timelines.
• Able to work autonomously and independently, including mopping, scrubbing, climbing ladders, cleaning windows and toilets.
• Available for early mornings to prepare the restaurant for trade.
• Confident dealing with customers, suppliers or contractors, including difficult situations.
• Able to hear and respond to alerts and alarms.
• Resilient and adaptable.
• Police check required if successful (applicants over 18); valid right to work in Australia required.
